Templeberg Villa, one of the few remaining period Dutch Colonial Hotels on a Coconut Estate in Sri Lanka , has been opened up to guests for the first time in its history.

The Templeberg Colonial Hotel Sri Lanka was constructed in 1864 as an old Dutch Colonial Villa when Galle was an important trading port for the Dutch East India Trading Company.

Comparable to the Dutch House Galle and Sun House Galle which are examples of Colonial hotels Sri Lanka, Templeberg  is an 18th-century building with 200 year old features such as trees and hand cut stone. Templeberg Villa Galle is a piece of Sri Lankan history, perched on a hilltop in a preserved jungle setting 3km from the UNESCO Fort and beaches of Thalpe and Unawatuna.
