Lucy Nelson, Canberra based writer, has won the 2014 Templeberg Writing Fellowship, the only Australia to Sri Lanka Writing Fellowship.
Ms Nelson received her award at a special function hosted by Writers Victoria on Tuesday 12 Augus 2015 in Melbourne, Australia at the Writers Victoria Salon Does Residences event.
For her prize, she will fly to Sri Lanka and stay at Templeberg in November 2014 and receive one month’s accommodation, all meals and $1000 stipend.
During her stay at Templeberg Villa Galle Ms Nelson will work on a novel length manuscript set in rural Sri Lanka about secrets that make slaves of their keepers.
Michelle Wright, last year’s inaugural fellow gave a reading of a short story she wrote while at Templeberg Villa Galle which referenced the 2004 Boxing Day Tsunami.
